Big drop in people calling themselves Republicans

Party attachments can shift around, with different numbers of people identifying with the political parties. At times, party identification can be pretty stable.

But in the last six months, as this poll aggregation shows, there’s been a clear change – a big drop in the percentage of Republicans.

As the Republican party and its positions have become more unpopular, there’s been a big drop in people calling themselves Republicans.

And because party identification changes, reputable pollsters do not make adjustments of the sample so it conforms with some previously determined percentages of people linked to or unlinked from political parties.
